Last month I invited the Movies & Munchies gals to watch - or re-watch - either Goonies or Ferris Bueller's Day Off and, hopefully get inspired into the kitchen.

This round-up is late because life happens and I needed to spend time as my family grieved the death of my brother-in-law. But this is not meant to be a downer post. So, here we go...

Love Ferris’ room decor and I would like to delve into the symbolism.

She was inspired by the Pepsi and Oreo placement during the hot tub scene.

Wendy of A Day in the Life on the Farm made Lengua Tacos the last time we watch The Goonies. But they looked so good that I wanted to post them again here.

Wendy posted: "I chose to rewatch Ferris Bueller. It was a hoot seeing all the actors in their younger days, and the film was just as fun as I remembered. There wasn't much food in the film, but soup was mentioned twice, as Ferris' parents believed he was under the weather."

Schweineschnitzel + Silvaner for Von Steuben Day

I also posted a recipe inspired by Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I made Schweineschnitzel.

This is a lighthearted comedy that is all about enjoying life. In the ending monologue, Ferris shares his life's philosophy. “Life goes by so fast,” he says, “that if you don’t stop and look around, you might miss it.”

Well, we all posted from Ferris. Funny! I did try my hand at homemade Baby Ruth candy bars inspired by The Goonies They ended up being Giant Ruth candy bars. Once I get it right, I will share the process because they were delicious. They were just all the wrong proportions.
