This is a variation on your typical Rice Krispies treats. I used Froot Loops because I wanted to pretty colors! What I haven't figured out is if the different colors have different colors. No one seems to know. How is that possible? And, truth be told, I didn't try this. So, I don't know the answer either. If you know, leave me a comment! Thanks.
These were such a fun addition to my sweet-cuterie platter!
Ingredients
Makes one 10-inch square pan
7 Tablespoons butter plus more for greasing parchment paper
7 cups marshmallows
7 cups cereal (I used Froot Loops for the colors)
Also needed: parchment paper
Procedure
Line a pan with parchment paper; I used a 10-inch square. Butter the parchment paper.
Place the butter and marshmallows in a large pot and heat until melted. Stir until mixed.
Fold in the cereal and stir until well-coated. Turn the mixture into the prepared pan. And, with slightly moistened hands, press firmly down to compact the mixture.
Let cool completely in the pan. Lift the crispies out of the pan with the parchment paper. Cut into whatever size you prefer.
